Steps: 39.317 (38,1km)
Temples: 37
I decided to break in my new shoes today. I figured since the old pair I brought as a spare have lasted now for almost half the trip, a brand new pair ought to be able to do the rest. Also, 400 grams may not seem like much, but the load off from my backpack is very noticeable.
It’s been a while since we had our warm jackets on, but waking up 250 meters above sea level had us shivering despite the sun doing its best to break through the clouds.
As we walked the short distance to temple 37, we witnessed a spectacular show of mountain forests peeping through the mist, the small village coming to life around us.
Later, as the sun came fully out it became clear that the elevation had also delayed the cherry blossoms just enough that we got to catch a second showing.
All around us the lush green mountainsides were speckled with clouds of pink, which made for a nice distraction from our aching feet (We got through the last 10k on our preferred cocktail of audiobooks, energetic pop songs and copious amounts of refined sugar).
Needless to say, we’re feeling pretty tired now, and are looking forward to a shorter day tomorrow ☺️
Hvor har I dog mange flotte udsyn!
Det er en skam vi må undvære lyde og lugte.
Hvor er det dejligt I kom afsted på den skønne tur❤️🙋♂️🙋♀️
